I learned to read at an early age, because, my mom tells me, I was angry that she would not read MAD magazine in different voices for different characters. I remember the first book I read, about a carousel horse who became a real horse. I cofounded the humor page at my high school newspaper from which I was later dismissed for having a bad attitude. I have written for publications at the University of Colorado, and alternative, neighborhood, and adult newspapers in Denver. I enjoy cartoons. I have done copywriting for a large airline's promotional events and I have taken out the recycling in my capacity as intern for one of America's best-respected humor newspapers. I have answered a campaigning Senator's correspondence, creating tailor-made responses from form letters. I have written articles on headstone engraving, canine cosmetic surgery, and pubic hairstyling. I believe that the role of art is to subliminally inform while superficially entertaining, and that the role of education is to subliminally entertain while superficially informing.
